life size Tetsujin 28 (Gigantor)

Japanese always amaze us for their passion and professionalism. We knew that a Life-sized RX-78-2 Gundam in Tokyo is so incredible, and now they are building a second mecha which is Tetsujin 28 (a.k.a Gigantor) O_o !!! Mecha is going to take over the world very soon, i think.

About this Life-sized Tetsujin 28 (Gigantor)

The official project name for this life size robot is Kobe Tetsujin Project. The new life-sized Tetsujin 28 will be on permanant display in Kobe’s Wakamatsu Park, starting in October 2009. Although the picture doesn’t seems like it but it is actually 60 feet tall and weigh 50 tons. There is an official website for this, click here to visit the site, it is in Japanese. The photos used are from the official site.

What do I think about this project

Actually, I was hoping that they will build Zaku to accompany the Life-sized RX-78-2 Gundam, but seems like Japanese decided to have mecha of various anime series instead of focus on one. It is not a bad thing so I’m happy about it. Maybe the next one can be Getter Robo or Mazinger Z?

I didn’t watch the anime so I can’t comment much, but it will definitely impress me if I have the chance to stand in front of it. I wonder will the travel agency come out with the package “Mecha Travel Tour”, sounds fun right? Let us raid Akihabara for the figure / toys, follow by taking photos with all the life size mechas. I have been dreaming to go Japan one day… How do you think about this mecha tourist attraction?
